Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Smoothie

  • Author: Elena
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A rich, creamy, and filling 5-minute breakfast smoothie that tastes like a milkshake but provides sustained energy with high protein and healthy fats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large ripe banana (about 120g)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted peanut butter
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (about 30g)
  • 1 cup almond milk or dairy milk (unsweetened)
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds or flaxseed (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel the banana and break it into chunks. If using fresh banana, ensure you have ice ready; if using frozen banana, you can reduce or omit the ice.
  2. Pour the milk into the blender first to help the blades spin freely.
  3. Add the peanut butter, cocoa powder, protein powder, and banana chunks to the blender.
  4. Add the ice last to ensure even blending.
  5. Blend on low speed briefly to break up ingredients, then ramp up to high speed.
  6. Blend for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth with no chunks or clumps.
  7. Taste the smoothie and adjust consistency or sweetness by adding more milk, ice, or sweetener as needed.
  8. Pour into a tall glass and serve immediately.

Notes

For the best texture, use frozen bananas instead of fresh ones and ice. This eliminates the need for ice and makes the smoothie thick and frosty. If using fresh banana, add extra ice. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, but shake well before drinking as it may separate. Do not freeze the blended smoothie as the texture will become watery.
