Classic Frozen Margarita Recipe Easy Fresh Lime Drink for Busy Weeknights

  • Author: Elena
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A quick and refreshing classic frozen margarita made with fresh lime juice, perfect for busy weeknights. This recipe balances tart, sweet, and boozy flavors in under 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) Tequila Blanco (100% agave)
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) Fresh lime juice (about 1 large lime)
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) Triple Sec or Cointreau
  • ½ ounce (15 ml) Agave syrup
  • 2 cups (about 300 g) Ice (crushed preferred)
  • Coarse salt (for rim, optional)
  • Lime wedges (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rim your glass with lime juice and dip it into coarse salt. This step is optional but recommended.
  2. Squeeze about 1 ounce (30 ml) of fresh lime juice from about 1 large lime.
  3. In a blender, combine 2 ounces (60 ml) tequila blanco, 1 ounce (30 ml) triple sec or Cointreau, ½ ounce (15 ml) agave syrup, fresh lime juice, and 2 cups (about 300 g) of ice.
  4. Blend on high until smooth and frothy, about 30-45 seconds. If too thick, add a splash of water or more lime juice; if too thin, add more ice.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more agave syrup or lime juice as desired.
  6. Pour into the salt-rimmed glass and garnish with a lime wedge. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice for best flavor; bottled lime juice will not provide the same brightness. Adjust sweetness and alcohol level to taste. Pulse blend to avoid over-melting ice. Rim glass with salt last to ensure it sticks properly. Use good quality 100% agave tequila for smooth taste. Freeze lime slices to use as ice cubes to keep drink cold without dilution.
