A quick, filling, and delicious protein shake combining chocolate and peanut butter, perfect for busy weeknights or a post-workout boost.
Ingredients
- 1 scoop (about 30g) chocolate protein powder (whey-based or plant-based, unsweetened or lightly sweetened)
- 2 tablespoons (32g) natural peanut butter (creamy preferred; almond or sunflower seed butter as substitutes)
- 1 medium banana (about 120g, peeled; frozen for thicker shake)
- 1 cup (240ml) unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of choice)
- ½ cup (120g) Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
- 1 tablespoon (5g) cocoa powder (Dutch-processed or natural)
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- ½ cup (about 120g) ice cubes
- Optional add-ins:
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- ½ teaspoon instant coffee or espresso powder
Instructions
- Peel the banana and measure out peanut butter, protein powder, cocoa powder, and milk. Prepare optional ingredients if using.
- Add milk to the blender first, then banana, peanut butter, chocolate protein powder, Greek yogurt, cocoa powder, and ice cubes. Add honey or maple syrup if desired.
- Blend on high for 1-2 minutes until smooth and creamy. Scrape down sides if needed and blend again.
- Taste and adjust thickness or sweetness by adding more ice cubes, milk, or cocoa powder as preferred.
- Pour into a glass or shaker bottle and serve immediately. Optionally, top with cocoa nibs or chopped peanuts.
