Description
Crispy air fryer chicken wings coated in a sticky, sweet, and garlicky honey garlic glaze. This quick and easy recipe delivers juicy, flavorful wings perfect for weeknights or parties.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken wings (whole, separated into flats and drumettes)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 large garlic cloves, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels. Separate whole wings into flats and drumettes if needed.
- Toss wings in a large bowl with baking powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C). Arrange wings in a single layer in the basket without overcrowding.
- Cook wings for 12 minutes, then flip and cook for another 12-13 minutes until skin is golden and crispy. Add 2-3 minutes more for extra crispiness if desired.
- While wings cook, combine minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, butter, and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
- Simmer gently for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly until butter melts and sauce thickens slightly.
- Transfer cooked wings to a large bowl and pour honey garlic glaze over them. Toss well with tongs until wings are evenly coated.
- Serve immediately, optionally garnished with extra red pepper flakes or chopped green onions.
Notes
Pat wings dry thoroughly to ensure crispiness. Use baking powder, not baking soda, to dry out skin. Do not overcrowd air fryer basket. Stir glaze constantly and keep heat low to avoid burning honey. Serve wings immediately for best texture; reheat in air fryer to maintain crispiness.
