Description
A cozy, festive 5-minute cocktail that combines warm spiced apple cider, vodka, and spicy ginger beer, garnished with autumn spices and fresh herbs.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 ounces vodka
- 2 ounces spiced apple cider
- 4–5 ounces ginger beer
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- 1 pod star anise (optional)
- A tiny pinch of nutmeg
- 2–3 thin apple slices (Granny Smith recommended)
- 1 small sprig fresh thyme
- Ice cubes (large preferred)
Instructions
- Fill a copper mug or tall glass to the brim with ice cubes.
- Pour 1.5 ounces of vodka over the ice.
- Add 2 ounces of spiced apple cider.
- Top off the glass with ginger beer, pouring slowly to preserve carbonation.
- Gently stir the drink 5-6 times to combine ingredients without losing fizz.
- Drop in a cinnamon stick and star anise pod.
- Add apple slices against the side of the glass and top with a fresh thyme sprig.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Use spicy ginger beer, not ginger ale, for the best flavor. If the drink is too sweet, add a splash of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. For a non-alcoholic version, omit the vodka. Ensure ginger beer is cold and fresh to maintain carbonation.
