Description
A quick, customizable, and creamy homemade version of the popular Utah-style dirty soda. This no-cook recipe combines cold carbonated soda, vanilla ice cream, and optional syrups for a sweet, fizzy treat ready in just five minutes.
Ingredients
- 12 oz (355ml) cold carbonated soda (e.g., Mountain Dew, Sprite, 7Up, Cherry Coke)
- 2–3 scoops vanilla ice cream (approx. 120g)
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream (for topping)
- 1–2 teaspoons vanilla syrup or simple syrup (optional)
- Whipped cream (for topping)
- Ice cubes (optional)
Instructions
- Chill your soda and glass beforehand to ensure the drink stays cold and fizzy.
- Scoop 2 to 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream into a tall 16-ounce glass.
- Drizzle vanilla syrup or simple syrup over the ice cream and stir gently to create a smooth vanilla paste at the bottom.
- Slowly pour the cold soda over the back of a spoon to minimize foaming, filling the glass about 3/4 full.
- Top with a generous dollop of whipped cream and optional garnishes like cinnamon or extra syrup.
- Stir well with a long spoon or straw to combine, then sip immediately while cold and fizzy.
Notes
For best results, keep the soda very cold to maintain carbonation. If the drink is too foamy, pour slower or use the spoon trick. For a dairy-free version, use coconut or almond milk ice cream. For a lower-sugar option, use diet soda and sugar-free syrup. This drink is best consumed immediately as the soda will go flat if stored.
