Turkey Cheddar Pinwheels

  • Author: Elena
  • Total Time: 1 hour 16 minutes
  • Yield: 12 pinwheels

Description

Easy make-ahead lunches featuring savory turkey and sharp cheddar wrapped in soft flour tortillas. Perfect for busy mornings, lunchboxes, and snacks.

Ingredients

  • Large Flour Tortillas (8-inch / 20 cm)
  • Cream Cheese (8 oz / 225 g, softened)
  • Deli Turkey (8 oz / 225 g, thinly sliced)
  • Sharp Cheddar Cheese (1 cup / 100 g, shredded)
  • Green Onions (2, thinly sliced, optional)
  • Ranch Dressing (2 tablespoons)
  • Garlic Powder (½ teaspoon)
  • Black Pepper (to taste)
  • Spinach Leaves (1 cup / 30 g, optional)

Instructions

  1. Soften cream cheese by letting it sit out for about 30 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir until smooth.
  3. Lay a tortilla flat on a work surface. Spread 2-3 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the entire tortilla, edge to edge.
  4. Layer thinly sliced turkey evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  5. Sprinkle shredded sharp cheddar cheese on top of the turkey.
  6. Add thinly sliced green onions and spinach leaves if using.
  7. Starting at one edge, roll the tortilla tightly into a log.
  8. Wrap the rolled tortilla tightly with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour (overnight preferred).
  9. After chilling, unwrap and slice the roll into 1-inch pinwheels using a sharp serrated knife.
  10. Arrange pinwheels on a platter and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

Chill the rolled tortillas for at least 1 hour to ensure they hold their shape and slice cleanly. Use fresh, soft tortillas to avoid cracking. A serrated knife helps slice without squishing. Customize fillings by swapping turkey for ham or adding veggies like bell peppers or jalapeños. For gluten-free, use gluten-free tortillas; for dairy-free, substitute cream cheese and cheddar with vegan alternatives.
